Cuttack, Jan 4: Yesterday the High Court directed the Keonjhar district administration to announce result of the no-trust vote against Anandpur civic body chief held in July last year. It also denied to accept the writ petition of the urban body chairperson, Saraswati Jena who sought a stay on declaration of result. At the no-confidence motion voting that was held on July 23, 2016, 12 councilors took part against the chairperson of the Anandpur Municipality. Four members of the civic body, including the chairperson, Saraswati Jena, had been abstained during the voting. However, votes were not counted due to a High Court injunction. The ballot box was kept sealed in the treasury office. On Jun 28, 2016, after meeting the collector, N Thirumala Nayak in his office, nine councilors of the civic body had moved the motion against the chairperson. Out of these councilors, five were from BJD, two from Congress and two independents.
