Padma Shri Awardee Nanda Kishore Prusty is No More
One of the finest teacher, Padma Shri awardee Nanda Kishore Prusty (Nanda Sir), is no more. He passed away at the age of 104 in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Nanda Sir, a resident of Kantira village in Sukinda block, admitted to a hospital in Kalinga Nagar area of Jajpur district on November 30 due to some health issue. Further, he tested positive for Covid at the hospital.
As his health condition deteriorated further, he was shifted the Sum Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Nanda Sir was loved by all for his dedication towards education. All through his life, he was trying to at least literate people.
He was honoured with the Padma Shree by the President of India last month for his over seven decade-long contributions in the field of education and social service.
Nanda Sir continued had been teaching to primary school students in his area at his ‘Chatashali’ free of cost.
