Paradip, March 6 : BIju Memorial Trust organized a ‘grand’ function here to mark the birth centenary of legendary Biju Patnaik .
Cutting across party lines, senior political leaders and prominent citizen participated in the function held near Jaydev Bhawan.
Senior BJP leader Biswabhusan Harichandan, senior Congress leader and leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, Former Speaker of Odisha Assembly Sarat Kar, former MP Shivaji Patnaik and a host of state and local leaders attended the function to pay tribute to the architect of modern Odisha.
A all-religion prayer was held in the morning to kick start the celebrations under the leadership of Cooperation and Excise Minister Dr Damodar Rout.
The foundation stone of Biju Minar was laid in the forenoon to mark the Centenary year and a documentary screened in the evening covering the life and work of the great leader.
