Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Thousands of people of GGP-Pandera residential areas have badly been affected as the voltage in the area remains to be very dim and is tripping frequently for over a month now. Also, nobody seems to be listening to their grievances.
As the voltage remains low, the water motors are not working to lift water from the supply water source and individual bore-wells to the tanks on the rooftops. People are spending sleepless nights as fans are not moving as well.
The Junior Engineer expressed his helplessness in the issue when some residents approached the concerned electric office. As the transformer has a load much more than its capacity, the voltage in the area remains very low.
Most of the locals staying on rent, have been suffering a lot when the house owners take the rents and electric charges from them every month without any delay.
To meet their daily needs, the tenants are standing in queues to take a bucket of water from a lone manual tube-well in the slum.
This puts forward a question to the State government for the various schemes it offers to the people of the capital city, even as the government talks big of providing quality power and water to the people.
