Nayagarh, Dec 26: In a tragic incident a bus overturned while it was returning from a picnic, at Maichhelil village, here, Sambalpur. The bus had jarred with a truck as a result of which the accident took place. One died while 10 others sustained injuries. The bus was carrying students, teachers and parents of Vinapani coaching centre located in Bhagabanpur. The incident happened at around 4am. The deceased was a woman named Tuni Pradhan and the critically injured victims were shifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment.
In another incident in Bonai, a dumper, on the eve of Christmas, on Saturday night, overturned near the Dalamkucha area on the Kaleiposa-Barasuan road under Lahunipada police limits in Sundargarh. Three persons died as the dumper lost control and overturned. They were sitting on the dumper bed when the accident took place as a result of which the three of them died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Santosh Mohanta, Saheb Mohanta and Sukru Mohanta of Sukhapalli village. The accident happened at around 10pm.
