Pipili, May 5: Today, outraged by yesterday’s incident of beating the Laxminarayangpur sarpanch at the block office, locals including women halted transportation between Puri and Bhubaneswar by blocking the NH-316 near Gudiapokhari Chhak here. The irate locals did not allow a single vehicle to run on the road. It is said by the locals that the sarpanch was thrashed on charges of alleged irregularities in the subsidized food supply.
