Sundergarh, Oct 28: In a shameful incident of allegedly raping and murdering a minor girl, Sundargarh Town Police has arrested and forwarded a man named Sanjib Kerketta to a local court on Thursday.
As per the information, Kerketta, on 21st October evening had kidnapped a four-year-old girl from her house while she was sleeping. After suspecting something unusual on seeing Kerketta taking the girl, some locals chased him but failed as he managed to flee from the spot.
After four days, a decomposed body of a girl was discovered by some people from an under-construction house. Suspecting Kerketta behind this, the locals dragged him to the police. The local police arrested him and interrogated him for information. Later, he admitted to the incident and murder of the girl, informed Sundergarh Sadar SDPO, Prashant Kumar Mohanty. He also admitted his motive behind the kidnapping and raping, Mohanty further added.
Irate over the entire incident, locals have demanded rigorous punishment for Kerketta.
