Uttar Pradesh: A devastating road crash in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has left 10 pilgrims dead. Victims, from Korba district of Chhattisgarh, were on their way to the Mahakumbh festival in Prayagraj when a Bolero collided with a bus on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction between the Meja police station area where the Bolero drivers lost control and met head-on collision with the bus. Apparently, the Bolero driver was closing his eyes while behind the wheel, resulting in the accident. The impact brought so much intensity that all 10 people traveling in the Bolero, including the driver, died.
The bodies were identified through their Aadhaar cards and mobile phones. The police had to beckon a JCB to pull out the corpses from the terrible entanglement of the Bolero. And the injured passengers of the bus were hurriedly taken to the hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered, and the families of the victims have been contacted and are en route from Chhattisgarh to Prayagraj. The driver was responsible for the accident, which is the statement so far from the District Magistrate, informing about further investigation going on. The District administration also has conveyed to the family of the victims about the accident and its aftermath.
