Puri Police Launch 'Yuva Shakti' Initiative To Serve Devotees During Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar: May 5: To facilitate hassle-free darshan of the Holy Trinity for the senior citizens and people with disabilities during Ratha Yatra, Puri Police have launched the ‘Yuva Shakti’ initiative.

50 individuals from various parts of Puri were chosen following a rigorous screening process by the police to be volunteers in such an initiative.

Additionally, the volunteers will aid the police in ensuring the free and unimpeded movement of sevayats. They will be deployed alongside police personnel at strategic locations to enhance the delivery of professional public services.

According to Puri Police, the volunteers will receive proper training regarding behavioral aspects. After training and sensitisation, the volunteers’ specific duties and schedules will be determined.

Volunteers have been provided with uniforms and identification cards. A senior official stated that anyone interested in providing feedback on the initiative can contact the nodal officer or the Town police station inspector. The SP launched the Yuva Shakti initiative on Thursday in the presence of members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
