Mumbai, Apr 14: Bollywood fame, ‘Rajkumar Rao’ who has wooed his fans by giving spectacular films such as ‘Shahid’ , ‘Kai Po Chhe’ and ‘Citylights’ is to step into the shoes of legendary free fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Rao is reportedly roped in by producer Ekta Kapoor and creative producer Hansal Mehta for playing the role of Netaji in the biopic of Bose that would be a Web Series. The series will start shooting by the end of this month.
This show will showcase the life of the brave hero along with the mysteries that surrounded his life. It will also reveal few secrets related to his death as in declassified files that talks about his life and his all of a sudden disappearance from the freedom movement. Hansal said that this will be a biopic of the hero’s life narrated in not a boring manner but in an edgy thriller running episode as the young audience are neither patient nor interested in history. The focus is to portray Bose as a contemporary hero and a rebel who’s work was unique so that it appeals to the youngsters. On asking about directing the show, he stated that he may direct one or two episodes but the official director of the series is ‘Pulkit’. And, on asking about his association with Rao, Hansal went onto say that when it comes to Rajkumar Rao, one should not be worried about anything because he transforms into the character he plays with absolute ease.
