Rajnath Singh pays homage to deceased BSF officials

New Delhi, Dec 23: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS Home Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary and Kiren Rijiju today attended the last rites of BSF officials at BSF hanger at Safdarjang airport, who lost their lives in a BSF plane crash yesterday.

After paying homage to the BSF officials, they met the family members of the deceased BSF officials and expressed their grief over the incident. All the dead bodies were dispatched to their native places by BSF aircraft with proper escort.

Earlier in the day, Kiren Rijiju visited the house of late Captain Bhagwati Prasad Bhatt, who was the pilot of the BSF plane.

The BSF aircraft took flight on Dec 22 from Palam Airport for repair of Mi-17 V5 stationed at Ranchi. The aircraft crashed near Dwarka.

Najeeb Jung, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Rajiv Mehrishi, Union Home Secretary, Devendra Kumar Pathak, DG, BSF B D Sharma, DG, SSB and other senior officials of MHA, BSF and SSB were also present.
