Rath Yatra Celebrated At Shrivani Kshetra

July 02: The auspicious Rath Yatra celebration was observed at the Shrivani khetra of KISS on 1st July 2022 amid religious fervour and gaiety. More than 20 thousand devotees participated in pulling the three decorated chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. The three colourful wooden chariots were festooned with flowers, appliqué and mural paintings.

The Pahandi and other rituals like Mangala Arati, Mailama, Tadapalagi, Rosha Homa, Abakasha, Surya Puja, Chariots, inauguration etc followed by the procession of deities from the temple sanctum to the chariots began in the morning as per the ethics and rituals of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath Temple of Puri.

Thousands of devotees gathered to pull the three chariots in the afternoon after Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS performed the holy ritual of Chherapahanra, the ceremonial sweeping of the Chariots.

The special feature of Ghosayatra here is that Devadalan, the chariot of Goddess Subhadra is pulled by only females.

The occasion has transformed into a colourful atmosphere with several temporary stalls, food stalls, minabazar etc. set up near the Gundicha temple.

During this nine-day festival there will be Bhajan samaroha in every evening near Gundicha temple.  Devotees from nearby localities come to Gundicha temple and offer darshan to three Lords.
