Bhubaneswar: July 22: Odisha recorded more than thousand COVID-19 cases in a single day. In last 24 hours, 1078 cases were found in the State. In fact, this is the highest single day spike, the State has witnessed so far.
Also, out of 1078 cases, 357 are local contact cases and 721 people were in Quarantine.
Ganjam District has registered 371 new cases and it’s total has gone up to 6,362.
As per the Health Department’s information, Khurda district has registered 121 new cases, followed by Rayagada( 96 cases), Malkangiri (66 Cases), Cuttack (57 cases), Jagatsinghpur (35 cases), Jharsuguda (34 cases), Sundergarh (29 cases), Puri (28 cases), Bargarh (26 cases), Kendrapara (24 cases), Gajapati (24 cases), Jajpur (20 cases), Sambalpur (20 cases), Nabarangpur (17 cases), Keonjhar (16 cases), Koraput (15 cases), Kalahandi (15 cases), Mayurbhanj (13 cases), Kandhamal (13 cases), Sonepur (10 cases), Balasore (10 cases), Bolangir (6 cases), Nayagarh (5 cases), Boudh (3 cases), Dhenkanal (2 cases) and Angul & Bhadrak 1 case each.
5 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the disease. Out of that, 2 persons are from Ganjam and one each from Gajapati, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.
With this, the total death toll of the State rose to 108.
