Bhubaneswar, March 30: An accountant of the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime branch Tuesday in connection with a fraud to the tune of Rs 1.22 crore.
The accountant, identified as Dilip Mohanty, is charged with misappropriating the said funds, informed special DG of Crime Branch BK Sharma.
Notably, the misappropriation surfaced during a special audit and Mohanty was found involved in bungling of the funds.
Sources informed that more officials are involved in this misappropriation and investigation is on to identify other errant officials of the premier health research institute.
