Angul, Oct 29: In a road mishap, a person identified as Gurubari Nayak of Phuljhari village in Angul district, died after being hit by a Tata Ace in the district today.
Demanding compensation to the kin of the diseased, the irate locals staged road blockade due to which the vehicular movements on the Bagadia-Angul road was affected for over four hours.
On receiving the information, the Chhendipada police and local Tehsildar reached the spot and tried to quell the anger of the protesters. However, after an assurance by the administration to provide financial aid to the family members of the deceased, the protestors withdrew the road blockade.
