MUMBAI, OCT 30: The rupee today recovered four paise to close at 65.27 per dollar on fresh selling of the American currency by banks and exporters.
The Indian currency resumed higher at 65.26 per dollar as against the last closing level of 65.31 at the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market and strenthened further to 65.11 on selling of the greenback by banks before settling at 65.27 per dollar, showing a gain of four paise.
The rupee had dropped by 38 paise or 0.59 per cent yesterday.
The RBI fixed the reference rate for the dollar at 65.2231 and for the Euro at 71.6671.
The rupee dropped against the pound sterling to finish at 100.22 from 99.65 previously and also moved down against the euro to 71.87 from 71.63.
The domestic currency moved down further against the Japanese currency at 54.19 per 100 yen from 53.99.
