Sanjay Singh will investigate Aryan Khan case
A team led by Narcotics Control Bureau Deputy Director General Sanjay Singh started probe in six drug cases including of Aryan Khan lodged with Mumbai NCB office.
Sanjay Singh is a 1996 batch Odisha Cadre IPS officer. He will investigate all six cases which were led by NCB Zonal Director Sammer Wankhede including cruise ship party raid of October 2.
Before joining the NCB, he was in the Drug Task Force (DTF) of the Odisha Police as Additional Director General (ADG). Also, he was in CBI till 2015.
He went on deputation in January 2021 and joined the Narcotics Control Bureau as the deputy director-general (DDG).
The NCB statement issued on Friday said that an SIT comprising officers from Operations Branch of NCB headquarters has been constituted by the Director General, NCB to take over a total of six cases from NCB Mumbai Zonal Unit which have national and international ramifications, in order to conduct deeper investigation to find out forward and backward linkages.
On the other side, NCB has initiated a probe into the alleged allegations of bribery and extortion against Sammer Wankhede.
