Identified as Sudhir Gamang (32) of Ramachandrapur village, the accused told police during interrogation that, after getting a call from Mini on the 13th January he went to Chandragiri and brought her in his bike. On his way, he stopped near the Sagada hill forest area, where he had a quarrel with Mini regarding her relation with other men. While he had earlier cautioned Mini to be away from other man, Mini had ignored her. They both sat under a tree and Sudhir had country liquor. Before setting her on fire, he took away her ornaments and the mobile phone she was carrying.
