Bhubaneswar: May 16: The students of School of Nursing at SCB Medical College and Hospital staged demonstration in front of Odisha Assembly today demanding transfer of principal of the school. They have handed over the memorandum to State’s Health Minister demanding immediate transfer or removal of the Principal.
They have been agitating since 7th of May for the ouster of Principal Kajal Rani Sinha, who had allegedly made casteist remark and meted out ill-treatment to a 4th year student.
Students have also alleged that, they have been protesting against the Principal’s ill-treatment and casteist remark peacefully in the campus, but the authority declared sine die without any reason. Today, they demanded a quick and personal intervention by the health minister into the matter and looked for proper justice to the students of nursing school. Besides, they also urged the Administration to take necessary action to revoke the sine die order.
The students have threatened to continue with their stir till action is initiated against the Principal.
