Jammu, Nov 6: Ved Bhasin, a veteran journalist of Jammu and Kashmir State of India died in Jammu on Thursday suffering from a degenerative brain disease. He was 86.
Known as the ‘grand old man of English journalism in Jammu and Kashmir’ Bhasin edited Kashmir Times for over three decades.
He was born in Srinagar and had schooling in Jammu. He did his post graduation before 1947 from the Punjab University (Lahore).
Bhasin was known for his uncompromising secular views and support for the under privileged sections of the society.
