Puri, June 8: In another changeover for tomorrows auspicious Snana Purnima, the Daitapati Nijog secretary, Premanand Dasmohapatra has informed that Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati cannot touch the deities on the Snana Mandap during the rituals, however he can offer his prayers.
Clarifying it, Dasmohapatra said, the Nijogs will not be responsible if anyone touches the deity, however if anyone does so, it would be the responsibility of the police.
In the meanwhile, all decisions and preparation have been made by the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) after discussing with the servitors for smooth and timely conduct of the festival. As per sources, the security has been tightened to ensure that the devotees do not touch the deities & should get a proper Darshan of the Trinity from a distance.
On the other hand, to maintain the discipline and facilitate lakhs of devotees for the Darshan are being looked into while the entire temple is under strict CCTV surveillance and adequate security personnels have also been deployed.
