Shootout at Dhauli: Dreaded criminal hit, hospitalised

Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: During a police encounter near Dhauli in the out skirts of the state capital, Sukadev Behera aka Suka, a rebellious criminal was injured late last night.

Suka earlier was hatching a plan to commit a serious crime in the area, when the special squad members of the Commissionerate police conducted a raid. While he tried to flee the spot by firing around two rounds of bullet at the police, the cops reverted back with bullets.

Sustaining bullet injuries on his right leg, Suka was earlier admitted to the capital hospital in the state capital and was later shifted to the SCB, Cuttack, said sources.

One pistol and two rounds of bullets were seized from his possession. While about 8 criminal cases are pending against him at various police station, the police have suspected his involvement in a loot from four morning walkers near lingipur on December 28.
