Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: A show cause notice under the Odisha Clinical Establishment Act has been issued by Khordha District Collector today to Pusparaj Samantasinghar, Medical Superintendent of Sum hospital who has been arrested in connection to the fire mishap at the hospital that happened on October 17.
As per reports, the show cause notice has been issued by the Collector to ask the hospital management to show cause as to why the registration of the hospital should not be cancelled in view of the deficiencies in its fire safety mechanism.
Notably, in connection to Sum Hospital fire mishap which claimed the life of 21 people, the Commissionerate police on Tuesday arrested Sum Hospital superintendent Pusparaj Samantasinghar, ex-Executive engineer Amulyakumar Sahu, Fire Safety Officer of the hospital Santosh Das and Malaya Kumar Sahu who was working at the electrical maintenance department of Sum Hospital, based on an FIR filed by Fire Services Department for negligence in conducting their duty.
However, among them, arrested superintendent Samantasinghar has been hospitalized at SCB medical college and hospital on Tuesday night due to a reported cardiac problem.
