SIMI operatives taken to Bhopal for quizzing

Bhubaneswar, March 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken three of the five Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) operatives, who were arrested last month, to Bhopal for interrogation.

Rourkela Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Wednesday had allowed the NIA to take the five operatives in remand for 15 days.

Police sources said, the NIA took Amjad Khan, Zakir Hussain and Sheikh Mehboob to Bhopal for interrogation.

Sources said the investigating agency has gathered several sensitive informations about their purpose of stay in Odisha, their local facilitators, network, associates, links and activities.
