Baripada: October 18:

The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district has reopened for tourists from October 18. The tiger reserve was closed for tourists from June 30 due to the monsoon.

According to a notification issued by STR Area Director Prakash Chand Gogineni, a maximum of 60 vehicles will be allowed to enter the national park daily. A maximum of 35 vehicles will be allowed to enter from the Jashipur check gate, while 25 vehicles will enter the STR through the Pithabata check gate in Baripada.

Tourists can visit the national park from 5 am to 9 am from the Jashipur entrance and from 8 am to 9 am from the Pithabata entrance of Baripada division. Tourists will have to leave the Similipal Tiger Reserve through the exit gate by 6 pm on the day of entry.

Apart from this, tourists can visit the national park through open jeep safari. The morning wildlife safari will start at 5:30 am and will last for 5 hours. The evening wildlife safari will begin at 2 pm and will last for 4 hours.
