Dhenkanal, Mar 26: In a tragic mishap, the Dhenkanal railway station manager, identified as Pabitra Nayak of Kamakhyanagar, came under a running goods train and died on the spot. Nayak was inspecting the rescue of a train engine which derailed last night, when the incident happened.
Nayak along with few staff had gone for the rescue of the engine last night. As of sources, he was busy over phone on some work issues, when a goods train coming from the opposite side crushed him underneath.
His body was recovered by the GRP Dhenkanal, and sent for the post mortem. And then it will be handed over to the family, said sources.
