Strong 7.0-magnitude earthquake strikes eastern Russia: USGS

Moscow, Jan 30: A strong 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Russia on Saturday morning, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake occurred at 0325 GMT at a depth of 160 kilometres (100 miles), about 95 kilometres northeast of the Russian town of Yelizovo, USGS said.

However, further details of damage if any was not immediately known.
