Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: After the hearing today at the SDJM court in the capital city, Manoj Ranjan Nayak, owner of the Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital was sent to Jharpada Special Jail.
It may be noted that as the two-day remand period of Nayak ended yesterday, he was produced before SDJM court today where the Commissionerate police did not seek for further remand period from the court.
On the other hand, a bail petition has also been submitted by Nayak at the Khurda District and Sessions Judge Court, the hearing of which will be conducted on Tuesday at the court.
Notably, the police arrested Nayak following the fire mishap at the hospital on last Monday due to which 26 people have lost their lives so far.
As per sources, during interrogation, police has got important information. Meanwhile police is trying to understand the organational structure of the hospital and how the decision had been taken related to the NOC of fire safety guidelines. The police is also giving importance to persons involved in the processing of files related to Fire safety.
On the other hand, Manoj’s wife Saswati Dash, against whom the police has issued a lookout circular, has not yet appeared before police for interrogation.
