California: December 4: Sundar Pichai has been promoted to chief executive of the world- renowned tech company Google. Google has appointed Sundar Pichai as CEO of parent company Alphabet, as the company’s co-founder Sergey Brin relinquished the post for some reason. However, Sergey Brin and other co-founder Larry Page will remain shareholders of the company and on the Board of Directors following the new changes.
Alphabet is a group of different companies. The company distinguishes Google from companies such as the Waymo (automated car) Verily (bioscience) Calico (biotech R&D) sidewalk lab (urban innovation) and Loon (internet availability in rural areas with balloon support). Sundar Pichai‘s full name is Sundararajan Pichai. Pichai was born on 12th July 1972 in Madurai of Tamil Nadu. He did his BTech from IIT Kharagpur and his MS from Stanford University after completing his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Sundar Pichai was made CEO of Google in 2015.
