Angul, May 10: Today, there was a ruckus at the residence of Talcher MLA Brajakishore Pradhan when a woman who claiming to be the MLA’s wife landed at the legislators’ village thus demanding to stay with him in his house. Upon being informed, the police arrived and brought the woman to the PS. The lady stated to the cops that her husband is the MLA and she has also had abortion twice and can’t even conceive anymore, thus losing all respect in the society and so wants to stay with the MLA at his residence. Talcher SDPO, Hemant Kumar Panda stated that when the woman arrived, some of them tried to stop her, anticipating a law and order situation,the woman was brought to the PS from there. Later at the PS, the woman started feeling uneasy and hence she was admitted to the Talcher sub-divisional hospital and was released subsequently.
It has been several times that the woman has openly claimed to be the MLA’s wife. She has also lodged a case at the Bhubaneswar Mahila Police. However, the MLA has repeatedly denied her claims. As per the woman’s complaint, before coming to the MLA’s house, the woman had gone to the National Human Rights Commission.
