Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: Around 3040 persons are suffering due to the vector-borne disease dengue, which has also affected 25 districts across the State with the death toll reaching to seven by now.
Amongst the 3040 persons, over 2,400 have been reported from Cuttack and Barbil area of Keonjhar district. The dengue symptoms have been identified in around 98 persons today.
The highest number of dengue patients has been recorded in the Keonjhar district which is around 1216 persons. According to sources, 16 persons were found with dengue positive today.
The dengue patient figure has reached 1180 in Cuttack district with 51 new cases that got noticed yesterday, thus most probably it would surpass Keonjhar which is the highest till now.
Ganjam district stands third, just next to Cuttack with 116 persons affected with the disease now. Around 71 and 90 dengue patients from Jagatsingpur and Jajpur districts have been recorded.
According to a report from the Heath Department, 72 persons in Bhadrak, 59 persons in Kendrapada and 47 in Khurda district are now suffering from the disease.
