Rourkela, 10th August: Today, three persons including the owner of the domestic LPG supply agency have been arrested by the Police in connection with the LPG cylinder fire mishap at Rourkela’s Indrapali that claimed the life of four family members.

As per reports, Police arrested Mukesh Kejriwal, owner of Utkal Gas Agency and two employees of the firm Trilochan Bhuyan and Pranadhan Mohanty. The Police have forwarded the three to the court. However, the court rejected their bail applications after which the three were sent to jail.

The Police have claimed that the fire mishap occurred due to the negligence of the LPG distribution firm which supplied an LPG cylinder without properly checking it for leakage.

Notably, four members of a family had died in the gas cylinder fire mishap at Rourkela’s Indrapali. The last victim was Suchitra Tripathy, who died at the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) on August 7 while undergoing treatment.

It may be noted that on July 31, the house of Suresh Tripathy, husband of Suchitra Tripathy, caught fire after a leak in the gas cylinder.

On Saturday while undergoing treatment at the hospital, Suresh and younger daughter Prachi succumbed to their injuries while another daughter died on Sunday.
