New Delhi, Oct 24: The CEO of San Francisco-based Twitter Jack Dorsey has given up 6.8 million shares worth more than 200 million USD for the company employees.
However, the micro-blogging site had recently laid off 300 workers.
The gift represents nearly one-third of the stock Dorsey owns in the company.
“I’d rather have a smaller part of something big than a bigger part of something small,” Dorsey tweeted.
“I’m confident we can make Twitter big!” he said. The shares will be earmarked for stock issued to employees next year under the company’s incentive plan. He will still own 15 million Twitter shares worth about USD 460 million.
