Two Doctors & Six others held for manhandling a Journalist & Police

Bhubaneswar: August 02: Eight people, including two doctors, have been arrested in connection with the attack on police and a journalist. One such incident took place in Kendrapara. Two doctors from a private nursing home have been arrested in Kendrapara on charges of misbehaving police and media representatives. Six other people were arrested and taken to court. While a journalist was taking a photograph on his mobile phone, Dr. Parshuram Sahu, the owner of the nursing home, Dr. Debashis and Dr. Shivashish, two sons, suddenly came and slapped him. He even confiscated journalists’ bikes and mobiles. At this point, somebody reported the matter to police.

When police arrived at the scene, they questioned the incident and asked the two sons of the nursing home owner to return the journalist’s mobile and bike. But Debashis and Shivashish, the two sons of the nursing home owner, refused to return the journalist’s mobile and bike. Police later called for a CCTV footage at the nursing home. As alleged, Debashis and Shivashish, the two sons of the nursing home owner, pushed the police without allowing to check the CCTV footage and started abusing the Police.

The journalist had lodged a complaint with the police station after the incident. Police have arrested Dr Debashis and Dr Shivashish, two sons of Durga Nursing Home owner Dr Parshuram Sahu. Police have also arrested six accomplices of Dr. Debashis and Dr. Shivashis.
