Bhubaneswar: July 11: On Tuesday, two elephants were killed after being hit by a goods train near Balidanda village of Tangiriapal panchayat in the block, which falls under  Brahmanipal range of Anandpur wildlife division.

As sources said, the accident occurred when an elephant herd was crossing railway tracks. Two elephants were killed on the spot and another one was injured in the collision with the goods train, but it fled into the forest with the herd.

According to reports, the DFO of Anandpur and other officials have arrived on the scene to conduct the necessary investigation and follow-up action.
