Cuttack, Aug 25: Cases related to the dodging of age of the cricketers have raised questions on the role and responsibilities of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in connection to this whole dubious incident.
The latest names included in this scandal is the Odisha’s U-19 fast bowler Ashutosh Das and women’s cricket team selector Santosh Das. Ashutosh is said to be the nephew of an OCA council member and Santosh is the second relative of an office-bearer of the sports body. OCA secretary Ashirbad Behera agreed to answer particular questions pertaining to the scam. He even said that it is not possible to verify the age of all the players. But he refused to answer question related to how has OCA failed to verity the age of players who are somehow connected to its own office bearers.
Notably, the CBI on Wednesday interrogated Daniel Rout for around three hours who is the Chief Coordinator of Odisha Cricket Association at the OCA office, suspecting his involvement in age manipulation. During the interrogation, some documents related to Rout were also seized by the three member team of CBI and alongside the cops have also conducted interrogation on some other OCA’s officials.
