New Delhi, Nov 24: over 1200 delegates from India and abroad including Mayors, Municipal Commissioners, Experts are attending the four day Conference on Urban India Mobility on the theme of “Transforming mobility for livability.”
Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates the conference.
About 1,200 delegates from India and 50 from abroad including Mayors, Municipal Commissioners, Experts, Town Planners, Designers, Architects etc will be attending the Conference. United Nations Environment Programme is partnering the Ministry of Urban Development in organizing the Conference.
The Conference seeks to bring the best practices across the globe to the knowledge of all stakeholders. It also facilitates states and urban local bodies to forge Agreements of Cooperation for Technology Support with concerned agencies and organisations.
The deliberations in the Conference will focus on Multimodal integration, Traffic Engineering and Safety, Real time traffic modelling, Climate Change in transportation, Pedestrians and Mode choice in Transport, Land Use Planning, Inclusive uses of road space, Strategies for low carbon transport, Shaping the future cities etc.
