Puri, Apr 15: Yesterday night, the most wanted criminal, Gora Mallick sustained injuries in an encounter with police near Delang here. He got a bullet injury on his right leg. He is now hospitalized in SCB Medical College and Hospital.
During the encounter, a pistol, gun powder and live crude bombs have been seized by the cops.
Mallick has an involvement in atleast dozen criminal cases relating to loot, extortion, attempt to murder and other petty crimes, one and the most important being his alleged involvement in the Atharnala bombing case here. As per the cops, Mallick had a hand in the firing incident that took place on Apr 8 here. On Apr 10, he also lobbed crude bombs on a businessman.
A special team had been closely tracking Mallick’s movements and finally arrested him during the firing yesterday.
