Odisha Police arrests one more person in misappropriation of government subsidy Case

Berhampur, Apr 20: Last night during late hours a dangerous criminal named Mitu aka Bijay Moharana got injured during firing by the police at Hinjli area in Ganjam here. He is now undergoing treatment at the MKCG Hospital here amidst stringent guard. It so happened that acting on a tip-off Hinjli and Shergada police were inspecting vehicles on the Burupada-Marudi road and in course they attempted to stop Mitu who was on a bike with his associate. But instead of stopping at the chek-point, Mitu started firing at the police officers reacting to which they too fired back. Following this, Mitu sustained injuries on his left leg and so he was immediately taken to the Hinjli hospital and later on his condition worsening, he was shifted to the Orthopaedic department of the MKCG Hospital. His associate named Mrutunjaya Rout somehow fled. On other side, Constable Subala Pradhan and Inspector-in charge of the Shergada PS have also been injured. Additionally, the cops have seized a pistol, two live bullets and the bike from Mitu. Notably, Mitu is a wanted criminal in murder and robbery cases.
