Sonepur, Apr 22: : In another shameful act by some miscreant, a woman was raped and later thrown into a well in the district.
As of sources, the woman, a resident of Khuntiapali Village in the district was first raped by the evil, and then was thrown into a well and left to die. But however, she was traced by the locals, who found her in an unconscious state and admitted her to the nearby hospital.
In the meanwhile, police has begun an investigation into the matter and are doing their best to nab the accused, who is said to be absconding.
Notably, the accused first tried to strangulate her and kill, but thought he failed, he threw her into the well, said sources.
Earlier, this week, a minor girl from Keonjhar was also gang-raped by three people (including a minor), while she was returning from a village function in the late evening hours. She was grabbed and taken away to a nearby forest where she was gang-raped. After getting informed, the police arrested the trio.
