New Delhi: December 25: The CBI has taken over the investigation into the alleged Yamuna Expressway Scam. The Central Bureau of Investigation has started investigation into alleged Yamuna Expressway Scam and has filed a case against Former CEO P C Gupta and 19 others.

Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has recommended CBI probe into the alleged 126 crore scam involving purchase of large areas of land in Mathura for the Yamuna Expressway Project.

Earlier, a departmental enquiry conducted by Yogi Adityanath Government. It has revealed that Mr.Gupta & some officials of YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) and others purchased 57.15 hectares of land in some villages of Mathura at the cost of Rs.85.49 Crore with the help of 19 companies.

This Project was started during the regime of former UP Chief Minister Mayawati in 2009 and inaugurated by Akhilesh Yadav in 2012.
