Paradip, Mar 12: “Leadership in Safety & Health enhances business sustainability” with this theme, the 46th National Safety Week was observed by Paradip Port Trust from 4th March to 10th March 2017. The valedictory function was held in the afternoon on 10th March 2017. Attending the closing ceremony, Shri N. Vaiyapuri, Dy. Chairman, PPT focused upon importance of celebrating safety week, suggested to ensure the upcoming year as Zero Accident Year for PPT. He stressed on inoculating safety mindset especially among workers. He also awarded prizes to the winners of various competitions organised on the occasion.
Gracing the occasion, Shri S. Dutta Choudhury, Asst. Director, Dock Safety, Paradip appreciated the tremendous effort undertaken by Paradip Port Trust to observe the National Safety Week. Shri S. Raha, Dy. Commandant (Fire), CISF Unit, Paradip and Shri B.B. Panigrahi, Dy. CME, PPT also addressed the gathering.
Shri R.N.Panigrahi, Safety Officer, PPT conducted various Safety programmes like Dock Safety training programmes, Awareness programmes on Fire fighting and First Aids, Disaster Management Mock Drill, Safety Drama, various competitions among Port users, officers and workers of PPT during the observation of Safety Week.
Earlier, Shri Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, Paradip Port Trust had inaugurated the safety week celebrations by unfurling the National Safety Day flag on 04.03. 2017. Speaking in the inaugural function, Chairman, PPT said that some specific Safety measures should be taken up by Paradip Port in such a manner that PPT will become an accident free zone.
