Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: Benefiting around 4 lakh State government employees and above 3 lakh pensioners, implementation of the 7th pay commission’s recommendation has been decided by the State government.
For this purpose, a fitment committee has also framed by the state government to finalize the modalities of the implementation.
Headed by Justice A K Mathur, the 7th pay commission had recommended 23.55 percent increase in pay, allowance and pensions of central government employees with effect from January 1, 2016.
However, as per an official approximation, around Rs 5,500 crore will be required annually for this pay revision. Presently, Rs 29,836 crore is being spent annually by the State government for the salaries and pensions of the employees.
