Sting on Bribery: Vigilance constitute five teams to nab BJD MLAs

Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: After the Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik ordered vigilance probe on Tuesday, five teams have been formed by the State vigilance to investigate the matter of BJD MLAs asking for bribes from an undercover industrialist person to help in setting up industries in their respective constituencies.

As per the information given by RP Sharma, Director of vigilance, five teams will probe the incident. Each team would be given a specific job. If required, more teams would be constituted.  

With a primary objective of impartial probe, forensic test of the audio and video clips, which were flashed in the media, will be done as per the legal point of view.

The person involved in the matter will be interrogated, sources added.

On Monday, demanding the arrest of the four BJD MLAs involved in the matter, BJP held a rally and also staged demonstration at Chhendipada, near MLA Sushant Behera constituency.

Also demonstration by Youth Congress activists had been seen, demanding the resignation and arrest of the four MLAs.

Notably, the video footage of the four MLAs, Hindol MLA Seemarani Nayak, Chhendipada MLA Susant Kumar Behera, Karanjia MLA Bijay Kumar Nayak and Bhawanipatna MLA Anam Nayak, which showed them demanding money for giving No Objection Certificate (NOC) and facilitating land acquisition in their constituencies, was aired on a local television channel on Monday.
