Puri, Dec 21: Yesterday the Gajapati Maharaj, Divyasingh Dev filed an affidavit before the judicial commission headed by Justice BP Das on Shri Jagannath temple reforms on the last day of submission. The erstwhile king gave the affidavit at his palace in the pilgrim town. However, it is not known about the proposals made by the king in his affidavit. The Puri Collector and Shri Jagannath Temple Administration also gave affidavits to the reform panel. The Puri Sankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati had also sent his proposals regarding the reform of the Shri Jagannath temple.

Despite being a culturally significant place, Puri is not being given due importance that it deserves from the State government. This was stated by the Puri King, Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb while addressing a special program here. He said that a lot of projects are being planned and announced, but nothing gets implemented.
