Dalmia Bharat to set up Skill Development Training centres in Odisha

As part of its CSR initiatives, Dalmia Bharat Group will be setting up three Skill Development Training centres in Odisha in FY 2015-16, said an official of the leading conglomerate.

The training centres will be set up in Cuttack, Rajgangpur and Rourkela. The company will sign an MoU with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in this regard year, said Vishal Bhardwaj, Group Head (CSR), Dalmia Bharat Group in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

As many as 6,000 youths will be given need-based skill development training in these centres every year to make them industry-ready, said Bhardwaj.

Dalmia Bharat have already started discussion with local industries to have first hand knowledge on their requirement so that it can select the curriculum for training, he added.

The company is laying emphasis on sanitation and has constructed sanitation blocks with bio digester technology, in various schools located at its area of operation. The company is also providing health care facilities, education and skill development training to people as part of corporate social responsibility.

Dalmia Bharat Group would spend Rs 5 crore for its CSR programmes in the eastern region which includes Odisha, during this fiscal, said Bhardwaj adding that it would lay emphasis on solar energy, safe drinking water and skill development in Odisha.
