Delhi: August 27: A bridge over the Jakhan River in Dehradun collapsed into the hollow area below when two trucks were crossing the river. The bridge is on Ranipokhari-Rishikesh highway in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The two trucks trapped over the piles of stones & bricks of the bridge.

As seen in the video of the incident, driver of a truck is running out of the collapsed part of bridge to save his life.
Administration asked the public to use alternative routes.

Due to heavy rain in Uttarakhand, Maldevata-Sahasradhara link road has been submerged in the river for several meters.

The Rishikesh-Devprayag, Rishikesh-Tehri and Dehradoon-Mussoorie roads have already been closed due to landslides at few places.

Not only in Uttarakhand, several rivers across the country have been flowing near or over the danger mark. Due to the force of water, many bridges have  has also washed away.
