Children Can Register For Vaccination From 1st Jan

India has taken another step forward in the fight against Corona amidst the growing threat of corona virus. Vaccination of children of 15-18 years is going to start from January 3 in the country.

Children will also have to register for this. The registration process for children on CoWin App is going to start from January 1. CoWin sources said, an additional slot has been created on the online platform and students can use the school Id to register for their slots.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, had said children in the 15-18 age group could get their first round of Covid vaccines from January 3.

Children in India will be vaccinated with one of two shots – either Bharat Biotech’s double-dose Covaxin or Zydus Cadila’s three-dose ZyCoV-D, both of which have been cleared for kids over 12.

Prime Minister also announced precaution dose for healthcare and frontline workers from 10th January 2022, Monday. This has been done in the light of the amount of time that the frontline workers and health care workers spend in the service of Covid patients. In India, this has been called ‘precaution dose’ not booster dose.

The decision of precaution dose will strengthen confidence of healthcare and frontline workers. The Prime Minister also announced that option of precaution dose will be available for senior citizens above 60 years of age with co-morbidities on the advice of their doctors from 10th January, 2022.
