Shantanu Mishra, batsman for Odisha, has been included in the East Zone’s 15-man team for the Duleep Trophy, and pacer Rajesh Mohanty has been placed on standby for the competition, which will take place in Tamil Nadu between September 8 and September 25.
Thursday, August 25, the East Zone selection committee chose their side for the forthcoming Duleep Trophy. The meeting took place at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
Manoj Tiwary, a sitting politician, and cricketer from West Bengal will lead the side in the competition, with Virat Singh serving as his deputy. The selectors have selected a formidable squad that includes Assam and IPL sensation Riyan Parag.
Seven players have been chosen from the Cricket Association of Bengal, four from the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, two from the Assam Cricket Association, and one from both the Odisha Cricket Association and the Tripura Cricket Association. The East Zone team includes Shahbaz Ahmed, who has been named for the Zimbabwe tour of India.
