Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad detained a 45-year-old man who was thought to be a regional committee member of the CPI (Maoist), a banned organization, from Jharkhand. Early on Sunday, a team of the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad conducted a raid on a chawl at Dhanvi in Ramnagar in Mumbai’s Nalasopara area.
The man, identified as Karu Hulas Yadav, is a native of Dodga village in the Jharkhand district of Hazaribagh’s Katkamsandi tehsil.
Sources said, ‘The Jharkhand Police’s website mentioned his name – Deepak Yadav alias Karu Hulas Yadav – in the list of ‘most wanted Naxals’.
As it has been reported, Yadav is a committed member of CPI(M) and working for the organisation since 2004 and had a 15 lakh rupee bounty on his head. He was in Maharashtra to receive medical care.
The operation has been reported to the Jharkhand Police, and more investigation is being conducted.
